How to Submit a Claim 1. Download the Western Freightways Claim Form. Complete the form and print it. Or, write a letter identifying the shipment and the claim amount.

2. Required Documents to support your claim:
  • A copy of the invoice or other document supporting your claim, including the full price paid after any discounts or deductions.
  • A copy of the bill of lading or consignee's copy of the delivery receipt.
  • Detailed repair invoices, if goods in question have been repaired.
  • Any additional documents supporting the claim.
3. Send your claim and all supporting documentation to:

CLEAR DELIVERY
CONCEALED DAMAGE

1. Within 15 days of delivery, request inspection.
- Retain goods and packaging until inspection is completed or waived by the carrier.
- Document notification given to carrier requesting inspection noting date, time and name of carrier representative contacted. Confirm request in writing.
2. Inspection should be completed within 3 days of request.
3. Once inspection is completed or waived by carrier, proceed to repair and mitigate the damaged goods.

SHORTAGE & VISIBLE DAMAGE
EXCEPTION TAKEN AT TIME OF DELIVERY

1. Note specific exceptions on the delivery receipt at time of delivery.
- Specify product number and quantity that is short or damaged.
2. Proceed to repair the damaged goods to mitigate the loss.
3. If claim is for visible damage (damage noted at time of delivery), and goods cannot be repaired, the carrier have the right to will pick-up the salvage. If you need this done prior to conclusion of claim, please notify carrier in writing to pick up the salvage, and reference the Pro number on your request.

PROCESSING YOUR CLAIM
Western Freightways will acknowledge claim in writing or by electronic transmission within 30 days after receipt. An identifying number will be assigned to your claim, we will pay, refuse payment, or make a firm compromise offer within 120 days after receipt of claim. If your claim cannot be settled within this period, New century will at that time and at the end of each succeeding 30 day period thereafter inform the claimant in writing or electronically of the reason for failure to conclude claim.
